Day 2 AN

The session 4 of the summit began with panel discussion on water under the moderator Pradip Swarnakar. The discussion covered the following issues: exploring the institunal dyanamics in community based water resource management, potentials and application of rain water harvesting floride contamination in ground water, arsenic contamination in Bihar and shared well irrigation in Punjab.
The next panel discussion under Mr. Stephen Zavestoski as moderator was based on urban sustainability which focused on urban flooding in megacities like Delhi, Bangalore, Shimla , UpperDharmshala the paper submission also threw light on various problems like urban water body management , ecological challenges due to urban expantion and also highlighted the upcoming challenge of developing sustainable cities 
Meanwhile UTHAAN was able to grab a few minutes of Mr Tuomas Yla-Anttila and antti gronow during the interview with UTHAAN. Mr Tuomas Yla-Anttila shared his experience of moderating the discussion on civil society organisations which covered case studies on US oil politics environmental movements and social networking sites in Bangladesh and comparative study Between France and US
Interviewing Mr antti Gronow he came across certain emerging issues of land resource management. He stated about changing land uses and sustainable development as the new upcoming concept. He also highlighted the role of media and local governance in ensuring a legalised and profitable land use.
