INTRO ETSD



This year from 2-4 March we witnessed the international conference on Environment, Technology and Sustainable Development. This idea was given by Dr.Pradip Swarnkar. This year international summit focused on:
1.       CLIMATE CHANGE
2.       GOVERNANCE
3.       SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
4.       URBANSUSTAINABILITY
5.       WATER
Other topics which were a matter of interest and where discussed are:
1.       ENERGY
2.       ECOSYSTEM
3.       ICTs
4.       AGRICULTURE
5.       ECONOMY AND LAND USE
6.       CUTURE KNOWLEDGE AND DIFFERENCE
7.       INEQUALITIES AND JUSTICE
8.       COMMUNITIES AND PATNERSHIP
9.       ADAPTATIONAND RSILIENCE
In ETSD 2014 a large number of participants from Russia, Germany, USA, France, and Africa came. It was in favour of environment where we don’t use any paper and all the scheduled information’s were told by an android App. Also this year’s ETSD streamed live on YouTube.

Inaugural porgramme



Inaugural ceremony of the international conference on Environment, Technology and Sustainable Development summit was held in auditorium of our institute. Ceremony began in a traditional manner by lighting a lamp. The ceremony started by Prof.  S G Deshmukh, Director of ABV IIITM welcoming the chief guest who included Padma Bushan Prof. Kirit Shantilal Parikh as well as other professors from various parts of the world who came to express their opinions about .
The Chief Guest Prof.Kirit Shantilal Parikh, Former Member, Planning Commission, Government of India, chairman, Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe), New Delhi had shared his view  on importance of Bio-gas as a part of Environment Technology and Sustainable Development.
Prof. Richard York, Professor of Sociology and Environmental studies, University of Oregon spoke about challenges of reducing fossil fuel use and told about killing of dolphins are increasing day by day  due to deep required for making cosmetic materials instead of using artificial material like wax which are now discovered.
Finally inauguration ceremony ends with the vote of thanks of Dr. Pradip Swarnkar.

DAY 1


In first panel of first session was based on water sustainability issues which were dealt by K V Raju. It dealt with my water issues like quality of water resources in wasted urban lands, Ground water depletion, improvising etc… they also told that lakes are boon for urban areas.
Second panel which was based on sustainable forming and moderator was presented Binay Kumar Pattanaik This climate change Governance and science and technology were main themes of discussion. The need for study of Agriculture was also a part of this panel.
Third panel was completely based on urban sustainability under Stephen Zeavestoskie. In a short interview with our Team Mr Stephen Zeavestoski told about the reason for urban sustainability to be a main topic of concern and also told about how to get sustainability in other ways.
Beth Canigilia Moderator from the fourth panel of first session in a talk with  UTHAAN explained us how local Governess can  do sustainable development and shed her opinions about why National Govt. are unable to reveal every sector or city and local governess only can play important role  in Urban sustainability.

DAY 2 FN


The  session 3 of the submit on march 3 started with the discussion on  sustainable development  and disaster management  under the moderator Dr Binay kumar pattanaik.the session 3 mainly included topics on governance and science and technology.the discussion focused on the issues like low carbon development in which a case was included for bhopal’s transport sector and electricity generation towards low carbon development,artisanal small scale gold mining and drought forecasting in the brahmani river in India.
The second panel in this session  covered topics on adaptation and change vulnerability which included climate induced migration from bangaladesh to India,international law for nature conservation and adaptation of biodiversity to climate change and adaptation strategies to mitigate implications of climate change in river basins.
Panel 3 also included paper presentations under moderator Tuomas yla-Anttila which thrown a light on community empowerment,emergence of green factories in India and understanding link between poverty and natural resource.
In the keynote by moderator Richard York ,the papers in this panel threw the light on “can asian transitions be green?a possible role for sustainability experiments”,”rationale for resource efficiency in india” and “the bishnois:ecologists since the 25th century”.
