Day 2 AN

The session 4 of the summit began with panel discussion on water under the moderator Pradip Swarnakar. The discussion covered the following issues: exploring the institunal dyanamics in community based water resource management, potentials and application of rain water harvesting floride contamination in ground water, arsenic contamination in Bihar and shared well irrigation in Punjab.

The next panel discussion under Mr. Stephen Zavestoski as moderator was based on urban sustainability which focused on urban flooding in megacities like Delhi, Bangalore, Shimla , UpperDharmshala the paper submission also threw light on various problems like urban water body management , ecological challenges due to urban expantion and also highlighted the upcoming challenge of developing sustainable cities 

Meanwhile UTHAAN was able to grab a few minutes of Mr Tuomas Yla-Anttila and antti gronow during the interview with UTHAAN. Mr Tuomas Yla-Anttila shared his experience of moderating the discussion on civil society organisations which covered case studies on US oil politics environmental movements and social networking sites in Bangladesh and comparative study Between France and US

Interviewing Mr antti Gronow he came across certain emerging issues of land resource management. He stated about changing land uses and sustainable development as the new upcoming concept. He also highlighted the role of media and local governance in ensuring a legalised and profitable land use.

“Aayudh the Band” Performed in ABV-IIITM as a tribute to our professors who teach us and are the sole reason for what are we today. They sang many hit Bollywood songs out of which “Tamevo Mata Pita Tamevo” was sang to thank our professors and other professors from around the world who had come to witness the event. Professors were delighted to see such respect give to them by the band and students. Along with the band, students also sang and danced to the performance. Student felt that performance by AAYUDH was one of the best they had ever witnessed. Aayudh band were also happy to see the wonderful crowd of ABV-IIITM and thanked the students for their encouragement.

DAY 3 FN

The session 5 of the submit of the submit covered topics mainly on governance, science and technology and climate change. The topics highlighted under the moderator Pampa Mukherjee which included presentations on a heritage view of water in India, perspectives from ancient Hindu scriptures, governance of traditional water harvesting practices in the ‘commos’ and water harvesting.

Panel 2 of session5 included the following topics under the moderator Stephen Zavestoski:renewable energy uptake and potential, urban solid waste as source of renewable energy in India, renewable energy from biogas technology and lessons learned from the deployment of solar home in  rural India.

The next panel under the moderator Gaurav Agrawal focused on economics of climate change adaptation  and sustainable development, economics of climate change in Indian sundarbans,consumption smoothing and climatic extremes and genuine savings rates.

The last panel in this session included the following topics under the moderator Depali Singh: corporate social responsibility, environment sustainability initiatives in Indian business schools and future managers’ perspectives and governance of corporate environment and social responsibilities in India.

In the keynote by moderator Pankaj Upadhyay which included work by Mr. Avinash Mishra,Mr. Naveen Kumar Sharma,Mr.  Pranshu Singhal  and Ashok  Das  whose main  work was on sustainable energy for all.

DAY 3 AN

The  session 6 of the submit  started with the discussion mainly on  governance under the moderator K.V.Raju.the panel mainly included topics like multilevel governance in environmental protection for mitigating climate change, sustainable natural resources management in Bangladesh, impact of china’s development policies to the Tibetan environment and role of policies in deployment of wind energy.

The next round of panel had a discussion on urban inequality and sustainability by Stephen Zavestoski. The content under this discussion included squinting at urban political ecology, gentrification, displacement, social inequalities, urban socioeconomic and environmental conditions of hill tracks in Bangladesh and garbage crisis in India.

The 3^rd round highlighted mainly on capital production and consumption of waste by the moderator Rajendra patil.the topics covered were policy networks of green growth in Finland, comparative assessment of biodegradable disposable plates from the user and environment perspective, the effect of environmental crimes and bio sorption of dye from water using low cost sustainable adsorbent.

The last discussion was on impacts of technology on people’s lives and livelihoods by moderator Debaprashad Chatterjee  which further included paper presentations on mobile technology land policy and administration in Karnataka, effect of fukushima daiichi disaster in India and finally the discussion on children in the face of flood disasters in the Zambezi valley.in this way the 6^th panel of dissuasions was successfully completed.

CONCLUSION NOTE OF ETSD

International summit witnessed research papers from many students from various parts of the world. Students of our institute got motivated to use technologies which will benefit the environment and would help in sustainable development of the same. The best brain from all around the globe who are specialized in different climate, culture and economy shared their views. The basic idea of the summit is to collaborate the different opinions of people who the betterment of worlds environment. People are enthusiastic to attend the next intentional summit. This year’s international summit was spoken as all-time best.
